Qatar Airways began flying between Doha, Bogotá and Caracas on Wednesday, November 4, with two services a week, the airline said in a statement issued the following day, Thursday, November 5.

The carrier said the launch makes it the first Gulf airline to serve Venezuela, and the first to link the Middle East nonstop with both the Colombian and Venezuelan capitals. The route is flown with Boeing 777-200LR aircraft.

Flight QR783 operates every Wednesday and Sunday. It leaves Doha at 07:35 and lands in Bogotá at 16:25, then departs for Caracas at 17:55, arriving at 21:00. The return leg takes off from Caracas at 23:30 and reaches Doha at 20:35.

The schedule was built to allow onward connections at Hamad International Airport toward markets such as Australia, China, Japan, Lebanon, South Korea and the United Arab Emirates, across a network the airline puts at more than 170 destinations this winter.

Bogotá and Caracas become the 16th and 17th points served by Qatar Airways in the Americas. The company first flew to South America in 2010, when it opened a route to São Paulo in Brazil.

Tickets can be booked on qatarairways.com or through the airline’s mobile app, according to the statement.
