Lou du Derby took the Prix de Gorron at Paris-Vincennes on Tuesday, November 3, catching the long-time leader Luna de Joudes right on the line. The win gave jockey Auriane Meunier her first victory at the Paris track.

The mounted trot race was the third event on the card, run over 2,700 metres on the Grande Piste for five-year-old mares that had not earned €65,000, with a purse of €41,000. Eleven horses were declared.

Lou du Derby, trained by St. Meunier, recorded a kilometre time of 1’15″30, the same as Luna de Joudes. Luna de Joudes had led past the stands under P.Y. Verva and broke clear in the final turn when Lila d’Octav broke into a gallop while challenging her. Lemilie Saint Bar, ridden by Lilian Bertin, finished third in 1’15″90. Lio Renka, Lasca Prior and Liberty Cash completed the top six.

The stewards’ inquiry changed the order behind the first two. Leely de Blary had snatched third at the finish but was disqualified for irregular gait. Lady Starlight, Lila d’Octav and Loka Loka were disqualified for the same reason. Lucia du Chatelet was withdrawn shortly before the start on her jockey’s decision.

A €1 win bet on Lou du Derby paid €10.10. The 4-11-1 trio returned €89.20, and the Mini Multi in four (4-11-1-3) paid €894 for a €1 stake.
