The Italian-Moroccan International Festival has wrapped up its 12th edition in the Italian city of Treviso. Political, academic and cultural figures from both countries attended the closing ceremony, alongside civil society representatives and members of the Moroccan community in Italy.

Among the guests were the deputy mayor of Treviso and several Italian university professors, including Professor Marco Mascia and Professor Michele Di Cintio. On the Moroccan side, Dr. Ghaïtha El Khiyat, a member of the board of the Ribat Al Fath Association, spoke about the history of relations between Morocco and Italy and the symbolism of Unity Day.

Festival president Abdellah Khazraji opened the ceremony with a welcome to the audience. He said that sustaining the initiative across twelve editions reflects how much cultural work matters in building ties of communication and friendship between the two countries.

Participants used the occasion to stress dialogue between cultures, closer academic and human cooperation, and the values of coexistence, tolerance and mutual respect.

The closing evening featured artistic performances and tributes to several Moroccan and Italian figures for their contribution to bilateral relations. It ended with a Moroccan dinner showcasing the country’s hospitality and heritage.
