Art lovers in Morocco and abroad have until November 30 to pick their favourite mural in the second Grand Prix JIDAR. The audience award of the JIDAR – Rabat Street Art Festival is organised by the association EAC l’Boulvart with Rabat Région Patrimoine Historique.
Voting opened on November 1 and covers the 14 murals painted during the festival’s 11th edition, held in the capital from April 16 to 27, 2026.
How the online vote works
Votes can only be cast online at grandprixjidar.ma. Each participant selects one fresco and then validates the choice through a link sent by email. The Grand Prix JIDAR 2026 goes to the artist whose mural collects the most votes.
The prize also includes an artistic project in Rabat, made up of a residency and an exhibition.
Yankamanta residency in Rabat
The first edition’s winner, Yankamanta, will be in residence in Rabat from November 7 to December 1. His project, “Yankamanta × Thysia”, connects the textile traditions of the Ecuadorian Andes, including those of Otavalo, with Amazigh craftsmanship from the eastern High Atlas.
Working with Thysia, a women weavers’ cooperative based in Douar Anfgou, the artist is producing tapestries, ceramics and video. One symbolic piece, begun in Ecuador, will be completed in Morocco on a vertical loom.
Exhibition at the Chellah
The work from the residency will be shown at the Maison Gharbaoui, within the site of the Chellah. The opening on December 5 will also be the occasion to announce the winner of the Grand Prix JIDAR 2026. The exhibition will be open to the public from December 6 to 26.
Since it was launched in 2015, the festival has covered more than 16,000 square metres of walls in Rabat, involving more than 85 artists of 25 nationalities.
