Moroccan internationals Achraf Hakimi and Gessime Yassine were named in the team of the week for the ninth round of the French league, unveiled on Tuesday, November 3, after both players shone for their clubs over the weekend.

Hakimi, captain of the Atlas Lions and a full-back at Paris Saint-Germain, earned a rating of 9 out of 10. On Friday he scored three goals, the first hat-trick of his career, and added two assists in a 5-1 win over Le Havre, taking part in every one of his side’s goals.

Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique praised the Moroccan’s consistency after the match, more than his scoring.

“He is the best right-back in the world, but I’m not especially excited to see him score three goals. What I like is seeing him always at the highest level, always ready. That means a lot to our team.”

Gessime Yassine was rated 8 out of 10 after a standout display on Sunday, when RC Strasbourg beat Auxerre by the same 5-1 scoreline. The Moroccan forward scored twice, set up another goal and won a penalty. He also leads the league in dribbling, with 26 successful dribbles since the start of the season.

The win ended a run of four straight defeats for Strasbourg, who host Toulouse on Friday.
