The 2026 show-jumping season will reach its conclusion in Rabat. The Moroccan capital will host the closing events of the Longines Global Champions Tour (LGCT) and the Global Champions League (GCL) from Friday, Oct. 30 to Sunday, Nov. 1.

Team competition opens the programme, with the GCL final set for Oct. 30. Individual honours follow on Nov. 1 with the LGCT final, closing three days of competition among riders and horses from around the world.

It will be the first time Rabat has staged the series finale. The city joined the circuit in 2024 as its first stop on the African continent and kept its place on the calendar the following year.

Tour marks 20 years

This edition carries extra weight, since the tour, created in 2006, marks its 20th anniversary. Over two decades it has grown into one of the top show-jumping circuits in the world, drawing elite competitors to venues on several continents.

An equestrian village covering roughly 5.5 hectares has been set up in the heart of the capital, between Mohammed VI Tower, Hassan Tower and the Royal Theatre.

Alongside the sporting events, the programme includes horse shows, concerts and other cultural activities linked to Morocco’s equestrian heritage, of which Tbourida remains one of the best-known traditions.

Crown Prince at 2025 Grand Prix

Last year’s Rabat leg, held Oct. 17 to 19, formed the 15th stage of the 2025 season, following stops in cities including Doha, Madrid, Shanghai, London, New York, Paris and Rome, according to an official MAP dispatch issued at the time.

HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan chaired that Grand Prix. On arriving at the venue, HRH the Crown Prince was welcomed by Moulay Abdellah Alaoui, President of the Royal Moroccan Equestrian Federation, and later presented the trophy to Anastasia Nielsen of Monaco. Denmark’s Andreas Schou finished second, with Ireland’s Denis Lynch third.

Each year the Kingdom also hosts the El Jadida Horse Show and the Morocco Royal Tour, two events that draw leading international riders.

From Rabat, the circuit moves on to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where the Global Champions Playoffs are scheduled for November.
