Editorial policy

This policy sets out the rules Zawaya 24 follows every day, so that readers know how we choose, verify and correct our stories.

Our principles

Accuracy before speed; independence from any political or commercial interest; fairness in presenting different points of view; respect for human dignity, the presumption of innocence and privacy.

Sources and verification

Wherever possible we go to the primary source: official statements, public institutions, Morocco’s national news agency MAP, documents and direct statements.

Every fact is clearly attributed to its source, and no story is published without a reliable one. Dates are written in full so that articles remain clear over time.

News and opinion

We clearly separate news and reporting from opinion and analysis. Opinion pieces are signed and reflect only their authors’ views.

Images

We use photos of the event itself whenever possible, with their credit. Illustrative images are labelled “Illustrative photo”. We never edit an image in a way that changes its meaning.

Corrections

When we get something wrong, we correct it quickly and openly: the article is updated and a “Correction” note states what changed and when. Simple typos are fixed without a note.

Advertising and sponsored content

Advertising has no influence on our editorial decisions. Any sponsored or partnership content is clearly labelled “Sponsored content”.

We work in accordance with Morocco’s Press and Publishing Law No. 88-13 and the code of ethics of the National Press Council.
