USFP backs small enterprises through dialogue with Moroccan business network

The small enterprises sector was at the center of talks as USFP First Secretary Driss Lachguar met a delegation from the Moroccan Network of Small Enterprise Organizations (RMIPE) at the party’s headquarters in Rabat. The meeting, attended by Mustapha Ajjab, President of the USFP National Council, focused on strengthening cooperation to advance the interests of small businesses and improve their role in Morocco’s economy.

During the meeting, Lachguar welcomed the dialogue initiative and reaffirmed the USFP’s commitment to supporting the legitimate demands of small enterprises. He said the party was ready to work alongside the RMIPE to promote a sector that represents a key pillar of the national economy.

He praised the network’s progress since its creation, highlighting its advocacy efforts and engagement with national institutions. According to Lachguar, the organization has helped return the challenges facing small enterprises to the national public agenda after years of limited attention.

The USFP leader also reiterated the party’s longstanding support for traders, professionals, artisans, and small and medium-sized enterprises. He stressed the importance of strengthening Professional Chambers and enabling them to fully exercise their constitutional responsibilities as representative institutions capable of addressing the concerns of business operators and contributing to practical policy solutions.

Lachguar further described the RMIPE as an increasingly influential stakeholder thanks to its field experience and broad representation of productive sectors. He said the organization has developed into a credible source of policy proposals that can contribute to more balanced public policies for small enterprises. He pledged that the USFP would continue defending their interests within national institutions.

RMIPE President Rachid Ouardighi presented a review of the network’s first year of activity, covering the period between its establishment on July 10, 2025, and July 10, 2026. He outlined the organization’s advocacy initiatives, institutional meetings, and policy memorandums, while presenting Lachguar with a special publication documenting its first year of work.

Members of the delegation also detailed the main challenges facing small enterprises across different sectors. They presented the key recommendations contained in a memorandum submitted to political parties, offering an assessment of current business conditions and proposing measures to improve the business climate.

The recommendations call for simplified administrative procedures, easier access to financing, stronger tax fairness, and a more supportive economic environment capable of encouraging investment, business growth, and job creation.

The meeting concluded with a joint call for continued dialogue between political parties and professional organizations to ensure that the needs of small enterprises become a priority in future public policies and political programs, recognizing their contribution to economic growth, wealth creation, employment, and Morocco’s broader socioeconomic development.
