Companies based in Guangzhou’s Tianhe district will get help finding partners in Ras Al Khaimah under a memorandum of understanding signed on Thursday, October 22, the Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RAK Chamber) said in a statement issued the following day.

The chamber’s counterpart is the Guangzhou Tianhe Central Business District Administrative Committee (Tianhe CBD). The document was concluded in Guangzhou while a delegation from the emirate was touring China. H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, attended the ceremony.

Dr. Rashed Al Nuaimi, Director-General of RAK Chamber, signed on behalf of the chamber. Dai Wei, Secretary of Tianhe CBD Administrative Committee Party Leadership Group, signed for the Chinese side.

Under the agreement, the two bodies will work to introduce Tianhe firms to buyers, suppliers, distributors and other partners across Ras Al Khaimah, Guangzhou and the rest of the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area. The plan includes tailored matchmaking, visiting delegations in both directions, and a shared presence at investment forums, trade exhibitions and promotional events.

The move follows the Ras Al Khaimah-China Business Summit, held in Shenzhen on October 19. Tianhe is Guangzhou’s main commercial hub, home to numerous company head offices alongside banks and other financial players, as well as firms offering professional and digital services.

Al Nuaimi noted the Chinese presence already established in the emirate, saying RAKEZ hosts more than 400 Chinese companies. He said the chamber wants to offer Tianhe businesses “a clear and practical pathway into Ras Al Khaimah” and to see the agreement deliver “concrete results.”

Dai Wei described Ras Al Khaimah and the wider UAE as “an attractive gateway to the Middle East, Africa and beyond,” adding that the memorandum gives Tianhe companies “a trusted partner on the ground.”
