Mohamed El Yaâcoubi appointed to lead Doukkala regional agricultural office

The Moroccan Government Council has approved the appointment of Mohamed El Yaâcoubi as director of the Doukkala Regional Office for Agricultural Development, marking a new leadership phase for one of the country’s most important agricultural institutions.

The appointment of Mohamed El Yaâcoubi follows the departure of the previous director, a transition that drew attention from agricultural professionals and stakeholders across the sector. The leadership change comes as the office faces major challenges linked to agricultural development and resource management.

Before taking up his new position, El Yaâcoubi served as Regional Director of Agriculture for the Oriental region. Throughout his career, he has gained extensive experience in implementing territorial agricultural policies and supervising regional development programs.

As head of the Doukkala Regional Office for Agricultural Development, he is expected to oversee strategic projects in a region widely recognized as one of Morocco’s leading agricultural production areas. His priorities will include supporting sustainable water management, advancing irrigation modernization, and strengthening the resilience of the agricultural sector in response to climate change, all of which remain central to Morocco’s national agricultural agenda.
