Fès-Meknès and Béni Mellal-Khénifra expand healthcare with 27 health centers

The 27 health centers program has been expanded across the Moroccan regions of Fès-Meknès and Béni Mellal-Khénifra, strengthening access to primary healthcare services for more than 317,500 residents. The Ministry of Health and Social Protection has commissioned new urban and rural facilities as part of its ongoing effort to improve regional healthcare coverage.

In the prefecture of Fès, the first-level urban health center “Lamsalla” has opened its doors. In the prefecture of Meknès, the first-level urban health centers “Marjan” and “Oum Rbiaa” have also entered service. Meanwhile, the rural dispensary of Zraa has started providing healthcare services to residents in the province of Sefrou.

The largest expansion took place in the province of Taounate, where 12 healthcare facilities became operational. In the provinces of Boulemane and El Hajeb, five new primary healthcare establishments have strengthened local medical services. Four additional primary healthcare facilities have also been launched in the province of Taza.

In the Béni Mellal-Khénifra region, two rural dispensaries have begun serving local communities. Together, the newly commissioned facilities are intended to improve regional healthcare capacity and bring essential medical services closer to residents, particularly in underserved areas.

The Ministry of Health and Social Protection equipped the new facilities with modern biomedical equipment and assigned 125 qualified healthcare professionals. The medical and nursing staff will provide a broad range of primary healthcare services, supporting the government’s broader strategy to modernize public health infrastructure and improve access to quality care across Morocco.
