Spain imported 39,160 tonnes of Moroccan avocados in 2025, worth $107.21 million, a figure that keeps the Kingdom in second place among the country’s suppliers by value. The data comes from the World Bank’s WITS platform.

That compares with 35,450 tonnes valued at $101.32 million in 2024. Volume grew by 10.5 percent, an increase of around 3.71 million kilograms, while value rose by 5.8 percent, or roughly $5.89 million.

Value grew more slowly than volume, so the average customs price of Moroccan avocados dropped by about 4.2 percent, from $2.86 per kilogram in 2024 to around $2.74 in 2025. This indicator depends on several factors, including fruit quality, the varieties shipped, the timing of consignments, trade contracts, and supply and demand conditions.

Peru topped the list of avocado suppliers to Spain last year, with imports worth more than $391 million on a volume of close to 169,500 tonnes. Morocco came next, representing about 14.9 percent of the total value of Spanish avocado imports.

The Kingdom finished ahead of Chile, Portugal and Colombia. Its standing rests on the network of firms serving the Spanish market that specialise in importing, packing and redistributing fruit and vegetables to other European destinations.
