Allwyn launches Powerball in the UK with nationwide marketing campaign

Allwyn has launched Powerball UK with one of the largest marketing campaigns in the history of the British National Lottery. The nationwide rollout combines television, streaming platforms, social media, outdoor advertising, retail promotion, cinema, and digital experiences to rapidly establish the new lottery game among UK audiences.

Developed by creative agency VCCP with support from Allwyn’s in-house Studio 59 and media planning by Hearts & Science, the campaign revolves around a simple question: “What would you do with Powerball money?” Rather than focusing solely on prize amounts, the campaign encourages people to imagine how a life-changing jackpot could help achieve personal ambitions, support loved ones, or benefit their communities.

To maximize reach, Allwyn has invested in an extensive media strategy spanning multiple channels. Advertising appears across major television broadcasters, streaming services, audio platforms, retail locations, experiential events, and an expansive outdoor advertising network.

Campaign content is being distributed through ITV, Channel 4, Sky, Netflix, Disney+, Amazon, ITVX, and Spotify. The launch is further supported by large-format outdoor advertising in railway stations, the London Underground, major road networks, and shopping centres across the United Kingdom.

The campaign’s flagship 30-second commercial debuted during the FIFA World Cup final, one of the summer’s biggest television events. Following its premiere, the advertisement is being broadcast across television networks, video-on-demand platforms, and digital channels to maintain nationwide visibility.

Cinema also plays a central role in the marketing strategy. The campaign receives premium exposure alongside the release of The Odyssey, allowing Allwyn to reach audiences during one of the year’s most anticipated film openings.

Digital engagement is another key element of the rollout. Snapchat creators invite users to answer the campaign’s central question before using Imagine Lens, an artificial intelligence-powered tool that transforms their ideas into visual content. The interactive experience allows participants to visualize dreams, personal projects, charitable initiatives, and future ambitions through generative AI.

Alongside this activation, Allwyn has partnered with social media agency Coolr to collaborate with creators from entertainment, cooking, art, and community-focused content. The initiative is designed to encourage diverse interpretations of what an extraordinary lottery win could make possible while generating conversations across social platforms.

Outdoor advertising remains another major pillar of the launch. More than 40 large-format billboard locations have been secured across cities including London, Liverpool, and Edinburgh, reinforcing Powerball’s presence from the first days of its introduction to the UK market.

The creative direction deliberately moves beyond traditional lottery advertising centred on luxury purchases. Instead, the campaign highlights imagination, personal aspirations, and positive social impact. Digital visual effects and ambitious storytelling aim to help audiences picture how significant winnings could transform both individual lives and wider communities.

Through this integrated campaign, Allwyn is positioning Powerball as a landmark addition to the National Lottery portfolio. By combining mass media, artificial intelligence, creator partnerships, cinema promotion, and extensive outdoor advertising, the company seeks to establish one of the UK’s most prominent entertainment marketing launches of the year.
