DP World said in a statement on Monday, October 26, that two executives, one from Emirates NBD Group and the other from Emirates Global Aluminium, have joined its board as independent, non-executive members, with both appointments taking effect immediately.
The Dubai group said Amer Abdulrahim Kazim and Iman Al Qasim widen the range of skills around the board table, with backgrounds spanning finance, governance, human capital and organisational change.
Kazim currently holds the post of Group Chief Audit Officer at Emirates NBD Group. His career of more than 27 years has taken in four sectors: banking, aviation, telecoms and real estate.
He earlier served as Chief Financial Officer of Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (du), and has held senior posts at Dubai Airports, Emirates Group and Meraas. His audit work also extends beyond his main role, with seats on the audit committees of both Emirates Development Bank and the UAE Banking Federation.
Al Qasim brings more than 20 years spent working on people management and organisational change. She is Executive Vice President of Human Capital at Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA).
Her previous senior leadership roles were with Mubadala Investment Company, Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC), General Motors Middle East and Dolphin Energy. She also serves as a director of E7 Group.
Essa Kazim, DP World’s Group Executive Chairman, greeted the arrivals in the statement:
“I am pleased to welcome Mr Kazim and Ms Al Qasim to the Board. Their extensive experience and expertise across a range of industries will bring valuable perspectives to DP World as we continue to strengthen our governance and deliver on our long-term strategic objectives.”
