Attijariwafa Bank Demo Day showcases AI driven banking innovation

Attijariwafa Bank placed artificial intelligence at the center of its innovation strategy during the final stage of the sixth edition of the Wenov Think & Make x IA Center program. The initiative, organized by Wenov, the group’s innovation entity, in partnership with consulting firm Onepoint, focused on the role of AI in transforming banking operations and services.

The Attijariwafa Bank Demo Day marked the culmination of a year long internal innovation program involving employees from across the banking group. Participants worked on practical solutions designed to address key business challenges while accelerating the adoption of new technologies.

Five projects developed by employees were presented during the event. The proposals focused on strategic areas including customer experience, employee experience, fraud prevention, risk and compliance management, and operational efficiency. The program encouraged teams from different business functions to collaborate and transform ideas into working prototypes.

The selected solutions were evaluated according to their business impact, technical feasibility, and scalability. They were then presented to the group’s executive management committee for consideration ahead of operational deployment in the coming months.

Throughout the program, Onepoint supported Wenov and the IA Center at Attijariwafa Bank in several stages of development. The consulting firm contributed to candidate selection, idea structuring, business case development, return on investment modeling, and pitch preparation. This process helped convert employee driven concepts into measurable projects ready for implementation.

The initiative was launched under the leadership of Mohamed El Kettani, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Attijariwafa Bank. The Demo Day was opened by Hassan El Bedraoui, Deputy Chief Executive Officer responsible for Transformation, Innovation, Technology and Operations. The program reflects the group’s commitment to innovation and its growing investment in artificial intelligence as a driver of business transformation.

During the event, El Bedraoui emphasized that the bank’s competitive strength comes from its employees, whose expertise and collaborative approach enable the development of new solutions that support the institution’s transformation goals.

El Mehdi Alaoui Mrani, Partner and Vice President of Onepoint Morocco, said the program demonstrated how impactful innovation can emerge from within an organization when supported by collaborative methods and advanced AI expertise.

Through the initiative, Attijariwafa Bank reaffirmed its intention to harness collective intelligence and artificial intelligence to improve customer services, strengthen operational performance, and support long term innovation across the group.
