Anchor Point hosted the fifth Taghazout Surf Expo from Thursday, October 22, to Sunday, October 25, with 42,000 visitors and 80 exhibitors taking part. It was the largest turnout in the event’s five-year history.

Federations, brands, artisans, accommodation providers, industry professionals and surf enthusiasts gathered on the seafront over the four days, all pursuing the same goal: the development of surfing in Morocco.

The edition’s main moment came with a memorandum of understanding signed by the Fédération Royale Marocaine de Surf, the Fédération Française de Surf and the Ligue de surf des Pays de la Loire, a regional surfing body in western France. The agreement covers training, the sharing of good practice and support for athletes.

Coastal safety, the promotion of surfing destinations and innovation also featured on the programme. Two Moroccan mobile applications built with artificial intelligence were presented to visitors.

Beyond the professional meetings, the public watched surfboard shaping demonstrations and joined community workshops. Concerts featured gnawa, dub and Amazigh rock.
