RS Berkane beat Raja 2-0 for first Botola Pro win

RS Berkane picked up their first league win of the season on Sunday evening, beating Raja Casablanca 2-0 at the municipal stadium in Berkane on matchday six of the Botola Pro D1 Inwi.

The result ended a run of four straight draws for the Oranges. For Raja, it was the first defeat of their campaign.

Berkane controlled the opening half while Raja looked to hit back on the counter-attack. Youssef Mehri broke the deadlock in the 29th minute, converting one of several chances created by the hosts. Raja pushed for an equaliser before the break, while Berkane kept probing for space to double their lead. The score held at 1-0 at half-time.

Raja came out stronger after the restart, especially once their Spanish coach made his substitutions. Berkane kept up the pressure all the same, and Yassine Labhiri struck from the penalty spot in the 85th minute to settle the match.

Berkane, who still have a game in hand, climbed to 12th place with 7 points. Raja Casablanca remained on 6 points and slipped to 13th.
