Regional economy observatory launched to boost investment planning
The Regional Investment Center of Béni Mellal-Khénifra has officially launched the Regional Economy Observatory, a new digital platform designed to centralize and organize strategic regional data. The initiative aims to strengthen territorial intelligence and support the region’s economic attractiveness through improved access to reliable information.

The Regional Economy Observatory was unveiled during a ceremony attended by representatives of public institutions, universities, professional organizations, and regional partners. The platform is the result of a collaborative effort involving the collection, consolidation, and structuring of data produced by various stakeholders across the region.

The database currently contains more than 30,000 data entries covering key demographic, economic, social, and sectoral indicators in Béni Mellal-Khénifra. The information is updated regularly and provides public officials, investors, researchers, and citizens with access to data that can support analysis and informed decision making.

Speaking at the event, Adil Azmi, Director General of the Regional Investment Center of Béni Mellal-Khénifra, said the Regional Economy Observatory aligns with the institution’s mission to promote territorial intelligence and reinforce the region’s attractiveness. He also thanked partner institutions that contribute data, noting that the platform will help maximize the value of the region’s information resources and place them at the service of investors and regional stakeholders.

Participants attended a demonstration of the platform’s main features. These include access to territorial indicators, comparisons between the region’s provinces, and sector-specific analysis tools designed to improve understanding of local economic and social trends.

The event also featured a panel discussion titled “Territorial Data in Service of Regional Development and Investment Promotion.” Representatives from the Wilaya, the Regional Council, the High Commission for Planning, CGEM Béni Mellal-Khénifra, and Sultan Moulay Slimane University discussed the role of data sharing, institutional cooperation, and effective information governance in supporting regional development.

Developed by the Regional Investment Center in partnership with key regional data producers, the Regional Economy Observatory is intended to become a decision support tool and an investment promotion platform. By providing a clearer view of the region’s strengths and economic dynamics, it seeks to help guide public policies and investment strategies.
