Morocco is preparing two competitive exams to recruit a total of 6,000 nurses and health technicians. The first round is planned for November 2026, the second for February 2027.
The first exam will cover 3,000 posts and is provisionally set for November 22. A second exam of the same size, offering another 3,000 positions, is planned for the second week of February 2027.
Meetings are expected in the coming days to decide how the posts will be distributed across regions and specialities. Official notices for both exams are due to be published over the same period.
The newly recruited staff will be assigned to regional health directorates and territorial health groups, as part of efforts to strengthen human resources in the health sector.
Abdellah Mirouchee, national secretary of the Independent Union of Nurses and Health Technicians, said the information the union had received about the two exams, each covering 3,000 nurses and health technicians, had been confirmed. In his view, the two rounds could absorb all graduates who are currently unemployed, improving health services and easing tension among students and graduates waiting to enter the job market.
Mirouche said the union’s priorities also include allowances for hospital internships for nursing students and the creation of an allowance for supervision. Settling these files, he said, would help stop training opportunities from being lost and ensure students are properly supervised.
The quality of care and health services starts with the quality of training and supervision, he added, since nursing and health techniques are precise sciences directly linked to citizens’ health.
