Wydad de Fès climbed to the top of Botola Pro 2 on Saturday with a 3-1 win over Chabab Benguerir in the sixth round of Morocco’s second-tier championship.

The result takes the Fès club to 13 points and provisional first place, continuing a strong start to the season under coach Mohammad Al-Bakari. Chabab Benguerir, winners in the previous round, could not follow up on that form.

Olympique Dcheira stayed within reach of the leaders after a 3-2 away win over Ittihad Abi Al Jaad in a game that swung back and forth. The Souss club now sit second, for the time being, on 11 points.

In Kénitra, the home side were held 1-1 by Union Islamique d’Oujda. The draw lifts the visitors to fourth place, also on 11 points.

Kénitra Athletic Club, known as “KAC”, are still searching for consistency. They sit tenth in the standings with 6 points after six rounds.
