Al Habtoor Group’s Board of Directors has decided to sell off the entirety of its Lebanese portfolio, the Dubai-based group said in a statement on Monday, November 2. Every hotel, building and plot of land it owns in the country is set to go on the market.

The sale covers commercial and residential real estate as well as the group’s other holdings in Lebanon. It builds on a decision announced on January 28, 2026, when the group stopped operating in the country, and is presented as a further step in an ongoing review of its investments and long-term business priorities.

According to the statement, the board weighed the matter carefully before deciding that leaving Lebanon completely was the right option for now. It linked the choice to sound management of its investments, the way it deploys capital and the need to safeguard the group’s interests.

No single deal is planned. Each property will be valued on its own, and sales will go ahead when market conditions and prices are judged suitable, under what the group called a structured, commercial process.

The group first invested in Lebanon in the late 1990s, putting substantial sums into hotels, property, leisure and other activities. It said it stayed in the country for over twenty years, continuing to fund and maintain its sites despite repeated economic crises and political turbulence.

Resources will now be directed towards markets the group sees as more stable over the long term, with a clearer investment climate and lasting growth prospects. It said its international expansion plans are unchanged, and that more information on the sale will be released in due course.
