Abu Dhabi: Air India Express opens Amritsar link, resumes Goa service
Air India Express flights from Abu Dhabi to Amritsar and Goa run three times a week since Oct. 25, Zayed International Airport said in a statement.

Travellers between Abu Dhabi and India gained two more direct options on Sunday, October 25, when Air India Express began flying to Amritsar and restored its service to Goa (GOX). Zayed International Airport announced the move in a statement on Tuesday, October 27.
Each route operates three times a week. Abu Dhabi Airports welcomed the debut of the Amritsar flights and the relaunch of the Goa connection in the same statement.
With these routes, Air India Express now links 17 cities in India directly with the emirate through around 160 flights every week. Its network from the Abu Dhabi hub includes Bengaluru, Delhi, Kannur, Kochi, Kozhikode, Mangaluru, Mumbai, Thiruvananthapuram and Tiruchirappalli.
The carrier has expanded quickly at AUH over the past 12 months. Since 2025, Guwahati, Indore, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Navi Mumbai and Pune have all joined its schedule from the UAE capital.
Abu Dhabi Airports described Amritsar, nicknamed the Golden City, as a hub of culture and trade in the Punjab region, and called Goa a highly popular holiday spot. The operator expects the flights to support tourism, business trips and family visits in both directions.
Carsten Norland, Chief Commercial Officer of Abu Dhabi Airports, said India “remains one of the most important markets for Abu Dhabi” and that the additions give passengers more choice as cooperation with the airline deepens.
Nipun Aggarwal, Chairman of Air India Express and Chief Commercial Officer of Air India, said the two routes reinforce Abu Dhabi’s standing in the group’s overseas network. He noted that they follow six routes added from the emirate in the past year.
