Morocco’s men’s beach volleyball campaign at the Youth Olympic Games Dakar 2026 has ended. Yasser Razi and Othmane Taghdouini fell to Ghana in straight sets on Monday in Saly.
The Ghanaian pair won 21-13 and 21-19 in a play-off for a place in the round of 16. The Moroccans pushed the second set much closer but could not take it to a decider.
Razi and Taghdouini had earned their spot in the play-off by finishing third in Pool A, having beaten Namibia 2-1 and lost to Germany and Sierra Leone.
That third-place finish gave the Moroccan duo one more chance in a play-off that decided the last two qualifying places for the round of 16.
The beach volleyball tournament runs until November 4 in Saly, a seaside resort about 80 kilometres south of Dakar.
