Royal Armed Forces host Mali’s military security chief for five-day visit
The Royal Armed Forces hosted a senior Malian military security delegation from Oct. 18 to 22, focused on expertise sharing and specialised unit training.
A high-ranking Malian delegation led by Major General Sambo Minkourou Diakité, Director of Mali Military Security, visited the Kingdom from Oct. 18 to 22, the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) announced.
The FAR said the visit aimed to “strengthen the strategic partnership and consolidate bilateral cooperation relations in the security field.”
Major General Ahmed Laghlid, Chief of 5th Bureau (Military Intelligence), received the Malian officers at the FAR General Staff headquarters.
Discussions focused on sharing experience and expertise in military security, along with the training of specialised units. Both sides consider these areas key to the missions carried out by their respective armies.
The delegation also visited the Centre d’instruction de sécurité et de défense, a training centre for security and defence, where officials presented the programmes used to train officers and non-commissioned officers in military security.
This visit is part of a broader series of exchanges between the two armies. Morocco and Mali held the first session of their joint military commission in Bamako in February, and on Oct. 7, the Inspector General of the FAR, General Mohammed Berrid, received a delegation from the Malian army.
