BMDAV launches reprography royalties portal for press registrations
The BMDAV reprography royalties system will enter a new phase on August 1 with the launch of a dedicated online portal for professional print journalists and newspaper publishers to manage membership and declare published articles eligible for reprographic reproduction royalties.
The Moroccan Copyright Office for Copyright and Related Rights (BMDAV) said the platform will support the implementation of the national reprography royalties management system. Through the portal, journalists and print media companies will be able to submit membership applications and register articles published in printed newspapers.
A phased timetable has been introduced to organize declarations covering the 2024, 2025 and 2026 publication years, allowing royalties to be allocated separately for each period.
From August 1 through December 31, 2026, users will be able to declare newspaper articles published during 2024. The declaration period for articles published in 2025 will run from January 1 to June 30, 2027.
Articles published during 2026 will become eligible for declaration starting on July 1, 2027.
BMDAV urged professional journalists and newspaper publishers to follow the announced schedule, complete their membership registration through the new portal, and submit article declarations within the specified deadlines to support the effective rollout of the reprography royalties management system.
