SICATAS urges health ministry to settle 2024 and 2025 promotions

The SICATAS has urged Morocco’s Ministry of Health and Social Protection to accelerate the publication of results for professional grade promotion exams covering 2024 and 2025. The union says the delays affect several groups of health workers as the sector moves toward territorial health groups.

In a letter dated August 13, the Independent Union of Administrative and Technical Managers and Health Assistants said the delay had become significant and difficult to explain. The organisation said the situation was creating growing frustration among the professionals waiting for the results.

The request concerns administrative and technical managers as well as health assistants. According to SICATAS, the affected workers are still waiting for their promotion results and for the administrative consequences of those promotions to be settled.

The union has linked the issue to the ongoing deployment of the territorial health groups. It argues that the administrative status and financial rights of the professionals concerned should be settled before they are transferred to the new territorial structures.

SICATAS is therefore calling on the Ministry of Health and Social Protection to speed up the publication of the professional promotion results for all affected categories. It is also seeking the prompt payment of amounts owed to eligible professionals.

The union said some categories of workers have already had their situations regularised. It is asking the ministry to extend the same treatment to the cases that remain unresolved.

For SICATAS, settling the outstanding promotions is part of ensuring that the transition to the territorial health groups takes place with clear administrative and financial positions. The union says resolving the pending files would also address concerns among professionals awaiting decisions on their career progression.
