Royal Air Maroc fleet expansion gains pace with new Dreamliner

Royal Air Maroc is set to strengthen its fleet expansion strategy with the arrival of a new Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner by the end of July, according to reports citing sources familiar with the airline’s plans.

The new aircraft will increase the Royal Air Maroc fleet to 68 aircraft, up from the 67 currently operating across the carrier’s network. The delivery forms part of a broader growth strategy aimed at supporting the airline’s expanding international operations and long-term development objectives.

Royal Air Maroc plans to continue receiving additional aircraft in the coming months and years. The airline expects its fleet to reach 74 aircraft by the end of 2026 before growing further to 88 aircraft in 2027. The expansion is designed to support increasing passenger demand and strengthen Morocco’s connectivity with major global markets.

The fleet growth comes as the carrier launches 20 new direct routes linking Morocco with international destinations including Saint Petersburg, Los Angeles, and Manchester. The new connections are expected to enhance the airline’s network across Europe, North America, and other regions.

Oussama El Farisi, Royal Air Maroc’s Head of Engineering, previously stated that the company’s development plan targets the integration of an average of 10 to 15 aircraft each year. The strategy reflects the airline’s ambition to modernize its fleet while increasing operational capacity.

Royal Air Maroc CEO Hamid Addou recently reaffirmed the airline’s commitment to its expansion program, describing the carrier as a strategic hub for Morocco. His comments accompanied the launch of the airline’s summer program, which offers 8.2 million seats across its network.

The carrier said its summer schedule will cover 86 international destinations spanning Africa, Europe, the Americas, Asia, and the Middle East. With a growing fleet and expanded route network, the airline aims to strengthen its position in international aviation while improving connectivity for Moroccan communities abroad.

Addou said the company remains focused on enhancing the passenger experience through newer aircraft, improved connections, and continued attention to traveler comfort throughout the journey.
