Morocco and Jordan are accelerating preparations for the sixth session of the Morocco Jordan Joint High Commission, scheduled to take place before the end of the year, as both countries seek to deepen bilateral cooperation and strengthen their strategic partnership.

Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita, met with Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi in Amman to discuss bilateral relations and key regional developments. The talks focused on expanding cooperation across multiple sectors and identifying new opportunities for collaboration.

The Morocco Jordan Joint High Commission was a central topic during the meeting. Both ministers reviewed organizational arrangements for the upcoming session and emphasized the importance of comprehensive preparations to ensure concrete progress in joint initiatives and cooperation projects.

The officials praised the positive trajectory of relations between Rabat and Amman. Morocco and Jordan maintain longstanding diplomatic ties that have evolved into a broad strategic partnership under the leadership of King Mohammed VI and King Abdullah II.

Regional developments also featured prominently in the discussions. Bourita and Safadi exchanged views on issues affecting the Arab region and reaffirmed the importance of ongoing consultation and coordination on matters of mutual concern. The two sides stressed their commitment to supporting regional stability, security, and development through continued diplomatic engagement.

The meeting was attended by Morocco’s Ambassador to Jordan, Fouad Akhrif, Morocco’s Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the Arab League, Mohamed Aït Ouali, and Khalid Bencheikh, Director of Maghreb, Arab and Islamic Affairs at Morocco’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Earlier the same day, Bourita held separate talks with Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani. Their discussions covered regional security, Arab cooperation, bilateral relations, and opportunities to expand collaboration in areas of common interest.

The diplomatic engagements took place alongside meetings of the Arab League in Amman. On Monday, Bourita participated in the consultative meeting of Arab foreign ministers and the resumed proceedings of the 165th Ordinary Session of the Arab League Council at the ministerial level, reflecting Morocco’s continued involvement in regional diplomatic efforts.
