El Jadida Horse Show highlights science and heritage at 17th edition

The El Jadida Horse Show will place science, equine medicine, and Morocco’s equestrian heritage at the center of its 17th edition. A scientific and cultural conference program scheduled for October 16, 2026, will bring together researchers, veterinarians, academics, experts, and industry professionals to discuss the key challenges facing the country’s equine sector.

The conference program will focus on equine health and welfare, advances in veterinary medicine, and the historical and cultural significance of horses in Morocco. Organizers aim to create a platform for dialogue among stakeholders while encouraging the exchange of knowledge and professional expertise across the industry.

Among the topics on the agenda are equine-assisted therapy in Morocco, rehabilitation methods, and hydrotherapy. These approaches reflect the growing interest in modern care techniques that support horses during recovery while strengthening understanding of the relationship between horses and humans.

The event will also examine Morocco’s equestrian heritage. Speakers will discuss the historical role of horses within the Cherifian Mehalla and explore their contribution to human physical and psychological well-being. Sessions will also address the preservation of historical documents, specialized terminology, and linguistic knowledge related to the equestrian world, recognizing their importance in safeguarding Morocco’s cultural memory.

Equine veterinary medicine will form another major component of the program through a partnership with the Moroccan Association of Equine Veterinarians. Established in 2008 under Royal High Instructions, the Association of the Horse Show is responsible for organizing the El Jadida Horse Show and promoting the development of Morocco’s equine industry. Its mission includes strengthening cooperation with public institutions, private organizations, and civil society, while fostering exchanges with similar events in Morocco and abroad.

The association also supports horse-related activities that contribute to rural socio-economic development, promotes Morocco’s cultural heritage and equestrian traditions, and encourages the growth of professions linked to the equine sector.
