Casablanca and World Bank discuss expanded urban cooperation plans
Casablanca and World Bank cooperation took center stage during a bilateral meeting between Casablanca Mayor Nabila Rmili and representatives of the World Bank in Morocco. The discussions were attended by Abderrahim Outass, Vice President of the Casablanca Commune in charge of international cooperation.
The meeting brought together Moustapha Ndiaye, Director of the World Bank office in Morocco, Salim Rouhana, Lead Urban, Resilience and Land Specialist, and Dina Ranarifidy, Senior Urban Development Specialist.
Talks focused on opportunities to strengthen the partnership between Casablanca and the international financial institution. Both sides reviewed areas of shared interest and explored potential avenues for future collaboration.
Key priorities discussed included urban resilience, climate action, territorial development, and the role of urban transformation projects in supporting job creation. The participants also examined ways to support major development projects currently being implemented across Morocco’s economic capital.
The meeting reflects ongoing efforts to deepen cooperation on urban development challenges while advancing sustainable growth initiatives and large-scale infrastructure projects in Casablanca.
