Brazilian tourist arrivals to Morocco rise 14 percent in first half

Brazilian tourist arrivals to Morocco increased by 14 percent during the first half of 2026, reinforcing the country’s growing appeal in the South American market. According to the Moroccan National Tourist Office, 30,132 Brazilian visitors arrived by the end of June 2026, compared with 26,545 during the same period in 2025.

The increase has been supported by the return of the direct Casablanca to São Paulo route operated by Royal Air Maroc. The airline currently offers four weekly flights, recording an average load factor of 83 percent, or around 250 passengers per flight. Between January and June 2026, the route carried approximately 52,500 passengers.

Royal Air Maroc plans to strengthen the connection further by introducing a fifth weekly frequency from October 28, 2026, using a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. The airline has also signed an interline agreement with LATAM, allowing travelers from several Brazilian cities to connect more easily through Casablanca.

The carrier aims to operate daily flights between Casablanca and São Paulo by 2027. It is also studying the possibility of launching a direct service to Rio de Janeiro, subject to the delivery of additional aircraft.

The Brazilian market has also benefited from sustained promotional efforts by the Moroccan National Tourist Office. In April, Morocco participated in WTM Latin America, one of the region’s leading tourism trade events, which gathered more than 800 exhibitors and 32,000 tourism professionals.

In June, the tourism office partnered with the Brazilian Association of Tour Operators, Braztoa, to host 22 Brazilian travel companies in Morocco. The initiative showcased the country’s tourism offerings and sought to expand commercial partnerships with Brazilian travel professionals.

The latest figures continue the strong recovery recorded in 2025, when Morocco welcomed 54,475 Brazilian visitors, compared with 40,277 in 2024. The total also exceeded the pre-pandemic benchmark of 47,113 arrivals registered in 2019, highlighting the sustained growth of Brazil as an increasingly important source market for Moroccan tourism.
