World leaders mark King Mohammed VI’s 27th Throne anniversary with congratulations

World leaders congratulated His Majesty King Mohammed VI on the 27th anniversary of his accession to the Throne, highlighting Morocco’s growing diplomatic influence and reaffirming commitments to strengthen bilateral cooperation across multiple regions.

As Morocco celebrated the national occasion, His Majesty King Mohammed VI received congratulatory messages from numerous heads of state, monarchs, presidents, and senior officials. The messages reflected the strength of Morocco’s international partnerships and recognized the Kingdom’s role as a stable and influential actor on the global stage.

Among the first leaders to send congratulations was Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, who conveyed his fraternal greetings and wished the Sovereign good health while expressing hopes for continued prosperity for Morocco and its people.

Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye praised the longstanding friendship and close cooperation between Morocco and Senegal. Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sissi also emphasized the historic relationship between Rabat and Cairo and reaffirmed his commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation in several sectors.

Emperor Naruhito of Japan extended his heartfelt congratulations and wished continued prosperity for Morocco. Dutch King Willem-Alexander and Sweden’s King Carl XVI Gustaf also sent messages of goodwill, expressing their best wishes for the Monarch’s health and the Kingdom’s continued success.

King Charles III of the United Kingdom underlined the strength of British-Moroccan relations and expressed his determination to deepen cooperation in the coming years. He also highlighted the importance of working together to address global challenges, particularly climate change and environmental protection.

Belgium’s King Philippe reaffirmed the importance of relations between Belgium and Morocco while extending congratulations to His Majesty King Mohammed VI and the Royal Family. Sultan Haitham bin Tarik of Oman also praised bilateral ties and wished the Monarch continued health and success.

From the Gulf region, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, expressed his wishes for Morocco’s continued development and prosperity. Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman likewise conveyed warm congratulations and sincere wishes for the Monarch’s well-being.

Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa described the anniversary as an opportunity to further strengthen the close relations and mutual respect between the two Kingdoms.

Chinese President Xi Jinping stressed the deep traditional friendship between China and Morocco, noting that 2026 marks the tenth anniversary of the strategic partnership established by the two countries. Russian President Vladimir Putin also welcomed the longstanding friendly relations between Rabat and Moscow and expressed confidence that bilateral cooperation would continue to grow.

German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier highlighted the strategic dialogue held this year between Germany and Morocco, describing the Kingdom as a reliable partner for Berlin in North Africa and the Mediterranean.

Australia’s Governor-General Sam Mostyn noted that 2026 marks the fiftieth anniversary of diplomatic relations between Australia and Morocco and expressed confidence that cooperation and friendship would continue to expand.

South Korean President Lee Jae Myung welcomed the steady progress in bilateral relations and expressed hope for deeper cooperation through increased exchanges in multiple fields.

Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani reaffirmed his country’s commitment to expanding cooperation with Morocco, while Jordan’s King Abdullah II emphasized the importance of bilateral relations and wished His Majesty King Mohammed VI continued good health.

Additional congratulatory messages came from Sierra Leone’s President Julius Maada Bio, Djibouti’s President Ismaïl Omar Guelleh, and Sudan’s General Abdel Fattah Al Burhan, all reaffirming their commitment to strengthening ties with Morocco.

In his Throne Day address, His Majesty King Mohammed VI reaffirmed Morocco’s commitment to advancing national development programs and strengthening the country’s international position. He stressed that Morocco’s stability and security continue to reinforce its reputation as a respected and reliable partner on the international stage.
