Amouage expands Secret Garden collection with new Love Hibiscus fragrance
Amouage has introduced Love Hibiscus, the latest addition to its Secret Garden collection, continuing the luxury perfume house’s exploration of modern femininity through a blend of floral and gourmand notes. Inspired by the landscapes of Oman and childhood memories shared by the brand’s creative director, the new fragrance reinforces Amouage’s creative direction in the global luxury fragrance market.
Secret Garden has been a cornerstone of Amouage’s women’s fragrance portfolio since its debut in 2016. Following a complete redesign of the collection in 2024, Love Hibiscus builds on that renewed identity by combining contrasting raw materials to create a contemporary olfactory composition. The fragrance follows the collection’s established concept of pairing a flower with a gourmand accord to deliver distinctive scent profiles in a highly competitive perfume industry.
At the center of the composition is hibiscus, a flower that is widely found across Oman but has rarely been used as the main note in fine fragrance. Amouage chose the flower for its complex scent profile, which combines green, lightly tart, woody and subtly fruity characteristics. The brand sought to preserve these natural nuances while presenting hibiscus as the defining element of the fragrance.
The launch also reflects Amouage’s ongoing effort to highlight Oman’s cultural and botanical heritage while presenting it through a contemporary luxury perfume language that appeals to international consumers.
To complement the freshness of hibiscus, Love Hibiscus introduces a gourmand accord inspired by palmier pastry, a classic European puff pastry dessert. The fragrance opens with salted caramel, passion fruit and bergamot before revealing a heart of hibiscus, iris and frankincense. Sandalwood, cypriol and vanilla provide a warm and lasting base that adds depth and richness to the composition.
The perfume was created by perfumer Jérôme Epinette in his first collaboration with Amouage. His interpretation balances strong olfactory contrasts while maintaining harmony throughout the fragrance, reflecting the creative identity that has become associated with the Omani perfume house.
Love Hibiscus is presented in the redesigned Secret Garden bottle introduced in 2024. The ceramic flacon features a vibrant red finish inspired by the hibiscus flower, while its textured surface is designed to evoke the feel of fruit skin. The packaging strengthens the visual connection between the fragrance and the botanical inspiration behind the collection while supporting Amouage’s premium positioning.
Founded in the Sultanate of Oman in 1983, Amouage has developed into one of the world’s leading luxury perfume houses. The company is now present in more than 100 countries through its own boutiques and selected retail partners across the Middle East, Asia, Europe and the Americas. With Love Hibiscus, the brand continues its strategy of combining Omani heritage, artistic innovation and craftsmanship to offer exclusive fragrances for an international luxury audience.
