Morocco: TV5MONDE invests €1m in the animation sector
Eight Moroccan animated series are coming to TV5MONDE’s channels, the result of an ambitious partnership between the French-language media group, local creators, Morocco and France to support French-language production.
In recent years, TV5MONDE has stepped up its support for the animation sector, drawing on the reach of its youth channel TiVi5MONDE, watched by 30 million viewers every week.
Having already supported creative studios in several sub-Saharan African countries, including Côte d’Ivoire and Madagascar, TV5MONDE has now decided to back Moroccan studios, thanks to a special grant awarded by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs.
Around ten original creations
TV5MONDE has invested a total of €1 million in the country, enabling around ten educational-entertainment animated series to be produced, all in French, helping to pass on the shared values of the Francophonie to new generations.
Agreements have been signed with two studios recognised for their commitment to developing Morocco’s animation industry:

- Neverseen Productions, founded by Yassine Lahrichi, whose creative world is built around characters rooted in the everyday realities of young people.
- Art’coustic Studios, led by Ali Rguigue, whose work focuses on heritage and historical storytelling.

A global broadcast
Eight animated series produced with TV5MONDE’s support are currently in production. Over the coming months, they will gain worldwide visibility through broadcast on the general-interest channel TV5MONDE, the youth channel TiVi5MONDE, and the streaming platform TV5MONDE+.
It is also an opportunity for young audiences to discover heroes, stories and cultural heritage that reflect the important place of the Maghreb within the French-speaking world.
