Some 22,000 people attended the three free concerts staged by the WeCasablanca festival at Place Rachidi in Casablanca from Thursday, October 29, to Saturday, October 31, 2026, part of a programme marking Unity Day.

Casablanca Events & Animation organised the event, bringing six Moroccan artists and groups to the stage. The company said it aimed to bring the city’s public squares back to life and offer residents and visitors performances ranging from traditional heritage to contemporary creation.

Three nights, six acts

The opening night on Thursday, October 29, began with Ribab Fusion and pieces drawing on Amazigh heritage. Fehd Benchemsi and his group, Fehd Benchemsi & The Lallas, followed with a set built on Gnaoua rhythms.

Friday, October 30, was devoted to chaabi music. Hamza Sanhaji and Estatia shared the stage in two concerts watched by an audience of all ages.

On the final night, Saturday, October 31, pop met urban styles. Slim Kravata performed first, before Reem Fakri closed the festival in front of thousands of spectators.

Free entry and the square’s central location drew a mixed crowd of families, young people and visitors, turning the concerts into a meeting point for several generations around Moroccan song in its many forms.

Organiser’s assessment

Mohamed El Jouhri, General Manager of Casablanca Events & Animation, said the festival had made it possible to celebrate Unity Day through art and culture, adding that the turnout showed the value of cultural events open to all of the city’s residents.

“WeCasablanca came to reaffirm what Unity Day represents for the people of Casablanca: an occasion to come together around what unites us, first and foremost our culture,” he said.

According to El Jouhri, a Place Rachidi filled with spectators of different generations reflects the company’s ambition of making Casablanca a city where culture reaches every resident.

By programming free shows in public spaces and bringing them closer to all sections of the population, the company is counting on supporting Moroccan artists and enriching the cultural scene in Casablanca.
