Stellantis held the 2026 edition of its Factory Booster Day on Wednesday, October 21, an annual global event that pairs practical problems from its plants with solutions offered by suppliers. The group said so in a statement issued on Thursday from Auburn Hills, Michigan.

Operational challenges were submitted by teams at 63 production sites across every region where Stellantis operates, the company said. More than 280 suppliers and start-ups responded with proposals covering artificial intelligence, automation, advanced robotics, vision systems, smart energy management and the digitalisation of manufacturing processes.

Launched in 2016, the event relies on a process called “Open Challenge”, which links the real needs of factory teams with suitable offers from outside firms. The chosen projects target quality, efficiency, safety and environmental performance at Stellantis plants, and those producing convincing results are prepared for rollout across its factories.

Francesco Ciancia, the group’s Chief Manufacturing Officer, said the event showed the strength of cooperation between Stellantis industrial teams and supplier partners.

“By starting from the concrete challenges in our plants and focusing on solutions that can be deployed at scale, we are accelerating innovation where it matters most: at the heart of our production sites,” he said.

This year’s programme added “Beyond the Booth”, a set of themed sessions in which Stellantis executives presented their views on key industrial priorities, as well as the “Innovation Global Awards”, which honoured contributions by employees and plants in different regions.

The company cited several projects from past editions as examples of how the initiative supports its FaSTLAne 2030 strategic plan. At the Sterling site in Michigan, ThinkDigits, a Michigan firm specialising in industrial artificial intelligence, installed real-time monitoring of metal blank movement during stamping. Stellantis said the system detects anomalies earlier and generates annual savings close to four times the initial investment, with extension to other lines now possible.

In Zaragoza, Spain, ZEISS introduced geometric measurement of stamped parts that requires no dedicated inspection fixtures, delivering what the group described as significant operational gains at limited cost.

At Sochaux in France, Uptale developed immersive digital training modules and virtual tours of production lines, replacing paper training materials and giving remote access to industrial processes.

Stellantis said its Factory Booster Day 2026 drew challenges from 63 plants and solutions from more than 280 suppliers and start-ups.

[5
5686,5685,5684,5687
post-6273","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-economie","tag-uptale","tag-zeiss","tag-francesco-ciancia","tag-factory-booster-day

 An “Open Challenge” since 2016
