Spain\u2019s Foreign Minister Jos\u00e9 Manuel Albares will visit Ceuta on Tuesday with Defense Minister Margarita Robles as Madrid intensifies its response to the latest migration crisis. The visit comes as more than 1,400 minors have been registered in the enclave and authorities work to determine the actual number.<\/p>\n
The trip follows a coordination meeting held on Monday by Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory Minister \u00c1ngel V\u00edctor Torres with Ceuta President Juan Vivas and Government Delegate Miguel \u00c1ngel P\u00e9rez Triano.<\/p>\n
The meeting addressed the growing pressure on Ceuta after the latest surge in arrivals. The situation of unaccompanied minors emerged as the most immediate issue for authorities.<\/p>\n
Spain\u2019s National Police have registered more than 1,400 minors in Ceuta. Authorities believe the actual figure could be higher. The government has made the registration of all minors a priority before assessing possible family reunification procedures.<\/p>\n
Torres said Madrid has also increased security resources in the enclave. Civil Guard personnel have risen by 40%, while National Police numbers have increased by 50%.<\/p>\n
The registration process will allow authorities to establish how many minors remain in Ceuta and gather information about their individual circumstances. Officials will then use the data to assess possible measures, including family reunification.<\/p>\n
The government has not yet released a final figure for the number of minors currently in the enclave.<\/p>\n
