The operation, one of the largest annual mobilizations in Moroccan civil aviation, transported thousands of pilgrims to the holy sites of Mecca and Medina under carefully coordinated logistics designed to ensure smooth passage, organized processing, and consistent service quality throughout.

A total of 91 flights departed from nine Moroccan airports toward Medina and Jeddah, operated by Royal Air Maroc alongside Saudi carriers. The airports involved spanned the length of the kingdom: Casablanca Mohammed V, Rabat-Salé, Marrakech Menara, Agadir Al Massira, Fès Saïss, Tanger Ibn Battouta, Oujda Angads, Ouarzazate, and Dakhla. Royal Air Maroc played a central role in the airlift, deploying its full operational capacity to serve as the structural backbone of the national air transport arrangement.

ONDA coordinated closely with a broad coalition of institutional and operational partners, including the Ministry of Habous and Islamic Affairs, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Transport and Logistics, the General Directorate of National Security, the Royal Gendarmerie, the Customs and Indirect Taxes Administration, airlines, ground handlers, and airport operators. The collective mobilization centered on three priorities: anticipating and managing passenger flows, continuously improving the traveler experience, and strengthening reception and support services for pilgrims and their families. At Casablanca Mohammed V, the primary hub of the operation, Terminal 3 was entirely reconfigured for Hajj flights, with dedicated spaces from the terminal’s outer access points, purpose-built signage, information desks, orientation systems, and an integrated workflow across every stage of departure.

A significant milestone of the 2026 edition was the expanded rollout of the “Tarik Makkah” program, now in its fifth consecutive year at Casablanca’s Terminal 3 and extended for the first time to Rabat-Salé airport. Developed in coordination between Moroccan and Saudi authorities, the program allows pilgrims to complete all Saudi immigration formalities, biometric checks, and baggage processing before departure, directly within Moroccan airports, eliminating procedural delays upon arrival in Saudi Arabia. The extension of the program to Rabat-Salé was described as a major development in the 2026 edition, reflecting Morocco’s growing capacity to deploy advanced facilitation mechanisms on behalf of its pilgrim population.

Throughout the operation, ONDA maintained a seven-day-a-week support service through its customer relations center and a dedicated Hajj hotline, ensuring pilgrims and their families had continuous access to information and responsive assistance. The agency stated that the operation reinforces its ability to manage complex, high-stakes national logistics operations while aligning with its broader Airports 2030 strategic framework.

Morocco’s national airports office, ONDA, successfully concluded the outbound phase of the Hajj 2026 operation,…

[3

post-530","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-society
["GET
