His Majesty King Mohammed VI said Morocco\u2019s economic progress is the result of long-term planning, strategic governance, and institutional continuity rather than chance, as the Sovereign marked the 27th anniversary of his accession to the Throne.<\/p>\n
In his Throne Day address to the nation, HM the King said the Kingdom\u2019s achievements reflect decades of consistent public policy built on entrepreneurship, rigorous follow-up, constructive self-assessment, and forward-looking decision-making.<\/p>\n
The Sovereign reaffirmed that improving the lives of Moroccan citizens has remained the central objective of his reign. He said his commitment has always been to enable Moroccans to live in freedom and dignity rather than to pursue personal recognition.<\/p>\n
HM King Mohammed VI also highlighted Morocco\u2019s political stability, security, and strong institutions as key advantages in an increasingly uncertain regional and international environment. He described stability as a strategic asset that continues to support the country\u2019s long-term development.<\/p>\n
Morocco\u2019s economy grew by approximately 4.9% in 2025, according to the King, with a similar or stronger performance expected in 2026. He added that favorable rainfall and a successful agricultural season have strengthened both water and food security across the country.<\/p>\n
The speech placed significant emphasis on Morocco\u2019s industrial development. HM King Mohammed VI said the Kingdom has consolidated its position as a regional center for manufacturing, tourism, and financial services. He identified the automotive, aerospace, renewable energy, and food processing sectors as essential pillars of the national economy that continue to attract investment while creating jobs and generating wealth.<\/p>\n
The Sovereign noted that Morocco has become Africa\u2019s leading exporter of automobiles, with an annual production capacity approaching one million vehicles. He added that exports from the automotive and aerospace industries now represent more than 40% of the country\u2019s total exports, surpassing phosphate exports.<\/p>\n
Referring to industrial projects launched earlier this year, HM King Mohammed VI said Morocco has joined the group of countries with major industrial capabilities in aircraft engine and landing gear manufacturing. He also highlighted the emergence of an integrated electric battery industry, describing it as evidence of Morocco\u2019s ability to anticipate technological change and integrate into strategic global industrial value chains.<\/p>\n
Renewable energy also featured prominently in the address. The King said Morocco is implementing major projects to make renewable energy a cornerstone of national energy security while attracting industries that rely on competitive carbon-free electricity. He added that the Morocco Offer for green hydrogen has entered its implementation phase through the approval of an initial group of large-scale projects.<\/p>\n
HM King Mohammed VI further stressed that strengthening national sovereignty and strategic self-sufficiency remains a central objective of Morocco\u2019s industrial policy. He said the country\u2019s food and pharmaceutical industries currently meet around 80% of domestic demand, while additional efforts are underway to expand industrial and technological capabilities in sectors including defense and cybersecurity.<\/p>\n
The Sovereign also called on Morocco\u2019s financial sector to increase support for small and medium-sized enterprises by improving access to financing, encouraging innovation, strengthening manufacturing, boosting exports, and mobilizing national savings to sustain investment.<\/p>\n
Concluding his economic vision, His Majesty King Mohammed VI reaffirmed that integrated territorial development, universal social protection, and continued support for Moroccans living abroad remain fundamental pillars of Morocco\u2019s long-term development strategy.<\/p>\n
