Denza has unveiled the Denza Z<\/strong>, its first fully electric supercar, marking a major step in the premium strategy of the BYD-owned brand. Revealed at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the Denza Z combines extreme performance, advanced aerodynamics, and ultra-fast charging technology. The flagship versions produce up to 1,604 horsepower, accelerate from 0 to 100 km\/h in as little as 1.96 seconds, and can recharge from 10% to 97% in just nine minutes.<\/p>\n

Rather than introducing another high-performance electric vehicle, Denza presents the Z as a showcase of BYD’s latest engineering. Built on the dedicated e\u00b3 sports platform, the model combines three electric motors, the DiSus-M magnetorheological suspension, Cell-to-Body battery integration, the second-generation Blade Battery, and Flash Charging technology. The company says these systems are designed to deliver consistent performance on both road and track while reducing charging downtime.<\/p>\n

Three main variants are planned, including the Coup\u00e9, Spider, and Racing versions. Each uses a three-motor configuration with one front motor and two independent rear motors. Combined output reaches 1,604 hp and 1,240 Nm of torque. The Coup\u00e9 accelerates from 0 to 100 km\/h in 2.25 seconds and reaches a top speed of 300 km\/h. The Racing version lowers the sprint time to 1.96 seconds with optional semi-slick tires and raises maximum speed to 350 km\/h.<\/p>\n

Denza also announced a Special Edition producing more than 2,000 horsepower. This model is expected to accelerate from 0 to 100 km\/h in under 1.7 seconds while featuring enhanced thermal management. The company plans to continue development with the goal of attempting performance records on Germany’s N\u00fcrburgring Nordschleife circuit.<\/p>\n

One of the most significant features is the charging system. Using the second-generation Blade Battery and Flash Charging technology capable of delivering up to 1,500 kW through a single connector, the Denza Z can recharge from 10% to 70% in five minutes and from 10% to 97% in nine minutes. Even in temperatures as low as minus 30 degrees Celsius, the battery can charge from 20% to 97% in approximately 12 minutes. Denza positions this capability as a key advantage for drivers seeking sustained performance with minimal interruptions.<\/p>\n

The Racing version receives several track-focused upgrades, including a redesigned front air intake, multi-channel cooling system, carbon fiber front splitter, underbody vortex generators, aerodynamic vents, and a three-position adjustable carbon fiber rear wing. According to Denza, the package generates up to 1,060 kg of downforce at 350 km\/h.<\/p>\n

The upcoming Special Edition further expands the aerodynamic package with lightweight composite construction, full carbon fiber body panels, and an active aerodynamic system capable of reducing drag while generating more than 2,000 kg of downforce at 300 km\/h. These developments underline Denza’s ambition to compete with established performance brands on demanding racing circuits.<\/p>\n

The exterior design reflects both performance and practicality. Measuring 4.78 meters long, the Coup\u00e9 and Spider become the most compact Denza models planned for Europe. Designed under the direction of Wolfgang Egger, the body integrates functional airflow management, distinctive diamond-shaped rear lights, and multilayer paint finishes that change appearance depending on lighting conditions.<\/p>\n

Inside, the cabin combines digital technology with motorsport-inspired controls. The steering wheel includes dedicated Track and Boost mode buttons, while carbon fiber trim, suede-style materials, metallic finishes, a digital instrument cluster, a central touchscreen, and wireless charging create a premium environment.<\/p>\n

Unlike many traditional supercars, the Denza Z offers four seats thanks to its 2.78-meter wheelbase. The Coup\u00e9 and Racing models also provide a 250-liter luggage compartment that expands to 550 liters when the rear seats are folded.
