The decision followed a steering committee meeting in Rabat chaired by Omar Hejira, Secretary of State for Foreign Trade, as part of the government’s strategy to expand Morocco’s presence in international markets.

The first selection was made after reviewing 435 applications submitted by companies from across the Kingdom. The approved businesses will receive tailored support to improve their export competitiveness. Beneficiaries include small and medium-sized enterprises already active abroad, companies preparing to enter export markets for the first time, firms seeking to diversify their international customers, and eligible cooperatives.

The initiative forms part of Morocco’s Foreign Trade Charter 2025-2027, the national roadmap aimed at improving the competitiveness of Moroccan businesses and increasing the international reach of domestic products. The strategy combines several measures, including the digitalization of foreign trade procedures through the eTrade platform and the single foreign trade portal, the introduction of complementary export credit insurance, market diversification efforts, and stronger support for professional associations.

The meeting also reviewed the initial progress of the support mechanism and outlined priorities for 2027. Participants clarified the responsibilities of the institutions involved in delivering the program’s two main phases. The first consists of an audit to assess each company’s export potential. The second provides operational support through the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development (AMDIE), helping selected companies implement international expansion plans.

Speaking during the meeting, Omar Hejira described Power Export as one of the flagship initiatives of the Foreign Trade Charter 2025-2027. He said the program is intended to make foreign trade a stronger driver of economic growth and job creation by equipping Moroccan companies with the tools needed to improve export performance and enter new international markets. The broader objective is to reinforce national exports while promoting more balanced economic development across Morocco’s regions.

The session brought together senior officials from partner institutions, representatives of relevant government departments, national organizations involved in foreign trade, and private sector stakeholders. Their participation reflects the government’s coordinated approach to improving the long-term competitiveness of Moroccan exporters and strengthening their integration into global value chains.

Morocco has approved the first 100 companies to join the Power Export program, marking the…

[5
788,2484,264
post-4020","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-economie","tag-exports","tag-foreign-trade","tag-morocco
["GET
