He said Morocco and Romania have developed strong partnership ties over several decades based on mutual respect and shared interests.

Cioloș also stressed Morocco’s importance within the International Organization of La Francophonie. He described the Kingdom as a key actor in the Francophone world due to its close links with French-speaking countries across Africa, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.

He called for a Francophonie that is better adapted to global transformations and more attentive to the expectations of younger generations. According to Cioloș, the French language remains an important tool for employment, entrepreneurship, and international cooperation among member countries.

The Romanian advisor further highlighted the cultural and linguistic connections between Morocco and Romania. Cioloș said more than 1,200 Moroccan students are currently pursuing higher education in Romania, describing academic exchanges as a key pillar of cooperation between the two countries.

Economic relations also featured prominently during the meeting. He noted that several Romanian companies have already established investments in Morocco.

According to Morocco’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, President Dan’s message reaffirmed Romania’s position on the Sahara issue. The Romanian president stated that genuine autonomy under Moroccan sovereignty could provide a viable solution to the regional dispute.

Romania also reiterated that the Morocco autonomy plan presented in 2007 remains the most appropriate, serious, credible, and realistic basis for achieving a just, lasting, and mutually acceptable political solution to the conflict.

Romania reaffirmed its backing for the Morocco autonomy plan for Sahara during high-level talks held…

[9
3494,389,264,3493
post-3524","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-politics","tag-autonomy-plan","tag-diplomacy","tag-morocco","tag-romania
["GET
