AjiHost, a startup based in Taroudant, has launched a digital platform designed to modernize the way riads, guesthouses, and hotels welcome travelers. The solution replaces traditional paper welcome booklets with a digital version accessible through a QR code, allowing guests to instantly access key stay information without downloading an application or creating an account.<\/p>\n
The platform centralizes information that is often spread across paper documents, emails, and reception desk interactions. By scanning a QR code placed in a room or reception area, travelers can view check in and check out times, Wi Fi access details, house rules, local recommendations, reviews, and meal menus. Accommodation providers can create and update the digital guide within minutes, with changes becoming immediately visible to guests.<\/p>\n
Beyond improving access to information, AjiHost is positioning the platform as a revenue generation tool for hospitality businesses. Its main feature enables guests to order meals directly through WhatsApp without intermediaries or platform commissions. The solution also supports the promotion of additional services such as excursions and transfers while providing a dashboard to monitor revenue generated through the digital guide.<\/p>\n
The launch comes as Morocco continues to pursue ambitious tourism development goals. According to the company, the country aims to welcome 26 million visitors by 2030. AjiHost also notes that recent reforms to the classification of tourist establishments place greater emphasis on the actual customer experience, including evaluations through mystery visits.<\/p>\n
The company says its platform can contribute to sustainable tourism efforts by reducing the use of paper traditionally associated with printed welcome booklets. It also sees significant market potential, citing figures indicating that Morocco has more than 4,000 riads and boutique hotels, while fewer than 5 percent currently use an active digital welcome guide.<\/p>\n
The platform is already being used by around ten establishments in Taroudant, Marrakech, and Essaouira. It is offered at a monthly subscription price of 200 Moroccan dirhams excluding tax per establishment, with a free one month trial and discounted annual plans.<\/p>\n
Founded in 2026 by Mehdi Hanoun and Youssef Azmane, AjiHost employs five team members with complementary backgrounds. The startup aims to expand access to digital tools for independent tourist accommodations and modernize guest reception without requiring advanced technical skills.
