Royal Air Maroc has launched its summer flight program with a record capacity of nearly 8.2 million seats, marking a 23% increase compared with the same period last year. The expanded operation comes as large numbers of Moroccans living abroad prepare to travel to Morocco during the peak summer season.<\/p>\n
The Royal Air Maroc summer program will connect passengers to 86 international destinations across Africa, Europe, the Americas, Asia, and the Middle East. The airline said the schedule reflects its commitment to meeting growing travel demand while strengthening Morocco\u2019s position as an international aviation hub.<\/p>\n
A fleet of 67 aircraft will support the network throughout the season. The carrier plans to continue expanding and modernizing its fleet, with additional aircraft expected to enter service during the summer of 2026.<\/p>\n
According to the airline, Europe remains its largest market. More than 3 million seats will be available on European routes, representing a 22% increase compared with last summer. The expansion is primarily aimed at serving Moroccan communities living abroad who traditionally return home during the holiday period.<\/p>\n
The network will include 44 destinations in Europe, while Casablanca will offer connections to 29 destinations across Africa. Royal Air Maroc will also serve seven destinations in the Americas, including the United States, as well as six destinations across Asia and the Middle East.<\/p>\n
Royal Air Maroc Chief Executive Officer Hamid Addou described the program as an important stage in the airline\u2019s growth strategy. He said the carrier is strengthening its role as a strategic gateway for Morocco through increased capacity and a larger fleet.<\/p>\n
Addou also highlighted customer experience as a key priority, pointing to fleet modernization, improved connections, and efforts to enhance passenger comfort throughout the travel journey.<\/p>\n
Demand is also increasing on routes linking Morocco with Asia and the Middle East. Capacity in those markets will exceed 524,000 seats, up 16% from last year. Destinations in China, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates are among the most requested routes.<\/p>\n
In the Americas, Royal Air Maroc has increased capacity by 7% to reach 723,000 seats. The airline’s point-to-point services across the region will provide more than 890,000 seats, representing a 37% increase.<\/p>\n
Domestic operations are also being expanded. Nearly 1.2 million seats will be available on internal routes, supporting stronger connectivity between Moroccan cities during the busy travel season.<\/p>\n
The launch coincides with the annual Marhaba Operation, a nationwide initiative introduced each summer to facilitate the arrival and transit of Moroccans residing abroad.<\/p>\n
While the airline has announced record capacity and fleet expansion plans, it continues to face criticism from some passengers.
