Morocco has inaugurated a new industrial facility operated by PlastikPack Maroc in Sidi Bou Othmane, marking a MAD 150 million investment aimed at expanding plastic packaging production and creating 200 jobs.<\/p>\n
The facility was inaugurated on Tuesday by Minister of Industry and Trade Ryad Mezzour, who described the project as an important development for Morocco\u2019s manufacturing sector. According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the investment reflects continued confidence in the country\u2019s industrial attractiveness.<\/p>\n
The new site includes a 3,000 square meter production workshop and a 7,000 square meter warehouse. The project combines the relocation of the company\u2019s existing plastic injection molding equipment with the introduction of new manufacturing lines designed to increase production capacity and product value.<\/p>\n
Broader product portfolio<\/strong><\/p>\n PlastikPack Maroc plans to expand its product offering beyond the plastic crates it currently supplies to the beverage, agriculture, and industrial sectors.<\/p>\n New products will include RFID enabled crates for the fishing industry, foldable crates intended to improve reverse logistics, single use plastic export pallets, and industrial plastic caps produced through a dedicated manufacturing line.<\/p>\n The facility will initially operate with eight injection molding presses ranging from 600 to 900 tons, as well as a 2,200 ton press dedicated to the production of single use plastic pallets.<\/p>\n Expansion and automation plans<\/strong><\/p>\n Once fully completed, the project will increase capacity to 13 presses in the 600 to 900 ton category and three presses exceeding 2,000 tons. The expansion is expected to support a higher level of industrial automation.<\/p>\n During the inauguration, Mezzour described the investment as a structuring project for Morocco\u2019s plastic packaging industry. He said the facility would contribute to strengthening industrial sovereignty while supporting the development of packaging solutions focused on traceability, reuse, and logistics efficiency.<\/p>\n PlastikPack Maroc is a subsidiary of the French SC-Pack Group.
