CaixaBank has expanded its corporate banking services in Morocco with the launch of thanX, a digital platform designed to simplify and centralize international transactions for businesses operating across borders.<\/p>\n
Unveiled in Tangier on July 1, 2026, the thanX platform targets small and medium sized enterprises, mid sized companies, startups, and import export firms. The solution enables businesses to manage international payments and foreign exchange transactions through a single digital environment.<\/p>\n
The launch reflects growing demand from Moroccan companies seeking efficient tools to support their international activities as trade relationships expand across multiple global markets. Through thanX, CaixaBank aims to reduce operational complexity by replacing fragmented processes with a unified platform.<\/p>\n
During the presentation, Natalia Mayo, Director of thanX Morocco, and Mohamed Rida Hachim, Vice President of thanX Morocco, outlined the platform\u2019s objectives. They were joined by Eugenio Tubio, Managing Director of Debt Capital Markets at CaixaBank, and Carlos de Parias, Managing Director of International Banking.<\/p>\n
The platform allows users to execute currency exchange transactions, convert foreign currencies, initiate international payments, monitor transaction status in real time, and access related documentation from a single interface. By consolidating these functions, thanX seeks to improve visibility over financial flows while reducing repetitive administrative procedures.<\/p>\n
In addition to digital capabilities, the service includes support from specialized teams that can tailor solutions to the requirements of individual businesses. CaixaBank said the platform was developed according to banking industry security standards and is intended to accelerate transaction processing while strengthening oversight of financial flows linked to imports, exports, and overseas investments.<\/p>\n
The introduction of thanX forms part of CaixaBank\u2019s broader strategy to support Moroccan companies as they expand commercial ties beyond traditional markets. Effective management of payments, foreign exchange operations, and trade documentation has become an increasingly important factor in maintaining competitiveness in international trade.<\/p>\n
Tangier was selected for the launch due to its role as one of Morocco\u2019s leading industrial and logistics hubs. The city hosts major export oriented industries and benefits from extensive port infrastructure and industrial zones that support international commerce.<\/p>\n
CaixaBank said the initiative also aligns with its objective of facilitating business relations between Morocco, Spain, and other international markets. Operating in Morocco under a banking license since 2009, the group maintains offices in Casablanca, Tangier, and Agadir, serving Spanish companies established in the country as well as Moroccan and international corporations.<\/p>\n
