The regional economy observatory<\/strong> has been launched by the Centre R\u00e9gional d’Investissement B\u00e9ni Mellal-Kh\u00e9nifra to strengthen data-driven decision making and improve the region\u2019s attractiveness for investors and development stakeholders.<\/p>\n

The official launch ceremony took place on July 2 in B\u00e9ni Mellal and brought together representatives from public institutions, universities, professional organizations, and regional partners.<\/p>\n

Developed by the regional investment center, the platform is the result of extensive collaboration involving multiple regional actors. It currently includes more than 30,000 data records covering key demographic, economic, social, and sectoral indicators across the B\u00e9ni Mellal-Kh\u00e9nifra region. The database is designed to provide reliable and regularly updated information that can support strategic planning, investment analysis, and public policy development.<\/p>\n

Speaking during the event, Adil Azmi, Director General of the Centre R\u00e9gional d’Investissement B\u00e9ni Mellal-Kh\u00e9nifra, said the initiative aligns with the institution\u2019s mission to advance territorial intelligence and enhance the region\u2019s competitiveness. He also acknowledged the contribution of partner institutions responsible for producing and sharing data, emphasizing the importance of transforming regional information assets into practical tools for investors and decision makers.<\/p>\n

A live demonstration showcased the platform\u2019s capabilities, including access to territorial indicators, comparisons between provinces, and sector-specific analysis. Organizers presented the observatory as a resource aimed at improving access to information and supporting evidence-based decisions across public and private sectors.<\/p>\n

The event also featured a panel discussion on the role of territorial data in regional development and investment promotion. Participants included representatives from the Wilaya, the Regional Council, the High Commission for Planning, the Conf\u00e9d\u00e9ration G\u00e9n\u00e9rale des Entreprises du Maroc B\u00e9ni Mellal-Kh\u00e9nifra, and Sultan Moulay Slimane University.<\/p>\n

Panelists stressed the importance of data sharing, institutional cooperation, and effective information governance in supporting territorial development.
