Morocco France economic partnership has emerged as a reference model for economic cooperation across Africa, according to France\u2019s Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade and Attractiveness, Nicolas Forissier, who highlighted record trade volumes, expanding investment flows, and growing collaboration in strategic industries.<\/p>\n
Speaking during the French Moroccan Economic Day in Paris, Forissier described bilateral economic relations as an exceptional partnership based on a shared belief that international trade can stimulate growth and create opportunities for both countries.<\/p>\n
Addressing an audience of around 300 business leaders, investors, and public officials, the minister said the relationship demonstrates how countries can strengthen economic ties through common values and long term cooperation.<\/p>\n
Trade between Morocco and France reached a historic level in 2025, surpassing \u20ac15 billion, equivalent to roughly MAD 150 billion. According to Forissier, commercial exchanges between the two nations have more than doubled over the past decade. He stressed that France intends to deepen cooperation through a mutually beneficial approach designed to support both economies.<\/p>\n
The minister said Morocco continues to advance its industrial development, modernize key sectors, and diversify its economy. At the same time, France remains an important market for Moroccan products. He pointed to the \u20ac600 million investment by Safran in a new Casablanca production facility as evidence of France\u2019s enduring commitment to the Moroccan market.<\/p>\n
Forissier also emphasized the increasing role of Moroccan companies abroad. While France remains Morocco\u2019s largest foreign investor, Morocco has become the leading African investor in France. He called for broader cooperation through joint ventures, reciprocal investments, and expanded trade partnerships.<\/p>\n
Beyond commercial relations, the minister underlined the importance of investing in education, workforce skills, youth mobility, and professional training. He encouraged companies to support future generations alongside their business investments.<\/p>\n
Renewable energy and green hydrogen were identified as major areas for future collaboration. Forissier said both governments are implementing a new economic roadmap launched after French President Emmanuel Macron\u2019s official visit to Morocco in October 2024 at the invitation of King Mohammed VI.<\/p>\n
Economic cooperation has accelerated alongside improved political relations. France\u2019s decision in 2024 to recognize Morocco\u2019s sovereignty over its southern provinces in Western Sahara marked a significant shift in bilateral relations and opened the door to deeper collaboration in several strategic sectors.<\/p>\n
Since that decision, the two countries have concluded multiple agreements covering infrastructure, energy, transport, industry, and investment. French companies have also increased their interest in projects throughout Morocco, including in the southern regions, reflecting confidence in the country’s long term economic prospects.<\/p>\n
The French Moroccan Economic Day was organized by the Paris \u00cele de France Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Moroccan Embassy in France, with support from the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development, the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Morocco, and Business France.<\/p>\n
