Banque Centrale Populaire (BCP) Group and Western Union have introduced a new instant money transfer service<\/strong> that allows people living abroad to send funds directly to bank accounts in Morocco in real time.<\/p>\n

The new solution relies on a direct application programming interface (API) integration between the systems of both companies. The connection enables transactions to be processed immediately and securely, eliminating delays that traditionally affect international transfers.<\/p>\n

The instant money transfer service<\/strong> aims to improve financial support for Moroccans living abroad and their families. By combining BCP\u2019s domestic banking network with Western Union\u2019s presence in more than 200 countries and territories, the platform seeks to simplify cross-border payments and improve access to funds.<\/p>\n

Idriss Bensmail, General Manager responsible for Retail Banking at BCP Group, said the initiative reflects the bank\u2019s commitment to using technology and innovation to improve customer services. He noted that the direct integration between Western Union\u2019s systems and BCP\u2019s banking infrastructure provides a secure and seamless transfer experience while supporting the group\u2019s open banking strategy.<\/p>\n

Western Union described the launch as a significant step in expanding access to financial services. Mohamed Touhami El Ouazzani, Regional President for Africa at Western Union, said both organizations share a common objective of helping customers in Morocco maintain strong financial connections with relatives and opportunities abroad.<\/p>\n

He added that the agreement reinforces the long-standing relationship between the two institutions and gives Banque Populaire customers access to Western Union\u2019s global network through real-time transfers.<\/p>\n

Western Union also thanked BCP for its continued confidence and recognized the teams involved in developing and deploying the platform. The company said the partnership would strengthen financial connectivity and enhance the customer experience both in Morocco and internationally.<\/p>\n

According to the two partners, the API integration could support the introduction of additional cross-border payment solutions in the future.
