Morocco and Bahrain reaffirmed their commitment to regional stability and stronger Arab cooperation during talks held in Amman between Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita and Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani.<\/p>\n
The meeting took place on the sidelines of gatherings of Arab foreign ministers in the Jordanian capital and focused on efforts to preserve security and stability across the region. Both officials also discussed ways to enhance coordination among Arab states in addressing current regional challenges.<\/p>\n
The discussions reflected the continued diplomatic engagement between Rabat and Manama. In February, Morocco and Bahrain convened the sixth session of the Morocco-Bahrain Joint High Commission in Laayoune, where they signed several agreements and memorandums of understanding covering customs cooperation, agriculture, food security, social protection, and visa exemptions for holders of diplomatic, special, and service passports.<\/p>\n
That session marked the first time Morocco hosted a joint commission with an Arab country in its southern provinces. It underscored the growing partnership between the two kingdoms and their shared interest in expanding bilateral cooperation.<\/p>\n
During the Amman talks, Bourita and Al Zayani reviewed the longstanding relations between Morocco and Bahrain and examined opportunities to strengthen collaboration in areas of mutual interest. The two countries have maintained close consultation on regional and international matters in recent years, regularly coordinating positions on Arab affairs and multilateral diplomacy.<\/p>\n
Officials from both countries have also emphasized the need to deepen economic ties to complement their political partnership and support broader cooperation objectives.<\/p>\n
The meeting was attended by Morocco\u2019s Ambassador to Jordan, Fouad Akhrif, Morocco\u2019s Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the Arab League, Mohamed A\u00eft Ouali, and Khalid Bencheikh, Director of Maghreb, Arab and Islamic Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.<\/p>\n
